The Boss RC-1 (🤍 is Boss’s most basic looper, but its simplicity is what makes it great. The RC-1 has a single knob for setting the loop volume level and an LED ring with 24 segments. Each segment indicates a beat, so you know where you’re at in your loop. You can use the footswitch on the pedal to record, overdub and clear loops, and you can tell which mode you’re on by looking at the LEDs. If the lights are red you’re recording your first loop, if they are red and green you’re overdubbing, and if the lights are green you’re just playing over what you’ve recorded. The RC-1 has 12 minutes of loop time, and stereo inputs and outputs. Boss RC-1 loop Station.
Today I will be showing you how to use the RC-1 Loop Station by Boss. Boss started making pedals in 1977 and introduced the RC-20 which was Boss's first loop pedal in 2001. They have since made a bunch of different loop pedals including the RC-5 and the RC-300. If you do not know what a looper pedal is, a looper pedal basically allows you to loop a chord progression, melodic ideas, and even percussive elements. The cool thing about looper pedals is that they allow you to jam endlessly without another person. They are also great for writing songs and working on scales. Today I will show you how to set up the RC-1 pedal, create seamless loops, and erase what you made to start fresh. I definitely recommend the RC-1 pedal because it constantly inspires me to keep playing the guitar.
