If Britain wants to sell its goods in the EU it will do it on their terms just like every other country outside the EU. The Brexiteers tried to tell the people that the UK will leave the EU and everything will remain the same after that which of course has proven to be a lie and they knew it at the time.

Laws were always made by parliament. The EU releases guidelines you have to follow (not following them isn’t even harshly prosecuted). Now the UK is out and they still have to follow them. Nothing has changed, except that they don’t take part in the creation of the guidelines anymore. It’s astounding to me that Brits even in the media still don’t have a grasp on that.
What a disappointment William Hauge turned out to be.
His hope is that the Tories have destroyed our reputation to the point where the EU no longer trust Britain no matter who is in office so Starmer won't be taken seriously. The sad thing is he's likely correct.
Hague should know. His party is making sure through standards divergence, Labour can never negotiate anything with the EU.

Of course the EU is not prepared to talk to the UK government when it becomes a Labour one after the elections. Even a child knows that such government can fail and the next one will be conservative again. A cycle of reentering and brexit every few years is not good for the EU nor the UK.
Though Labour may want it, the EU will never ever allow this. Forget it!
Haigh and co have not only made this country a horrible, difficult place to live but even stopped us getting out! When I was 20, with no decent future available in Britain, I just went to Spain,got a great job and had a wonderful life many times better than I could have had in the broken Britain of the 1980's - but now that freedom has gone along with the citizenship of a whole continent my grandkids are stuck here like prisoners. The Brexit b-s even took our flag away - once it was a flag for every Briton but not any longer, now it's just a Brexit stage prop to wave as an insult while we call our best friends and allies Nazis and Slavers 🤮
It didn't have to be like his -you Brexiters didn't have to call us Europhiles traitors or the EU Nazis but you did - winning by lying wasn't enough for you, you had to gloat and insult us too. And have it all 100% your way with no compromises to the 33 million or so that didn't want to leave the EU.
I don't believe our poor divided country will recover from this. Certainly not in my lifetime or even my children's - no hope for better anymore. People like Haigh have ruined our future but of course not their own!
The EU would be MAD to allow the Brits back in OUR Union.

Of course UK can come back to the family, but it won't be easy. There will probably be precautions and conditions, so you can't come and go as you please, whatever parliament you have for the moment. Just my 2 cents.
Whilst I agree with Lord HAGUE. A new Labour Government if they win the G/E, (and that is not guaranteed) they will have the advantage of being more trustworthy than the present corruption riddled Tories. But, as the man says, UE are NOT open to negotiation to appease an ex member which caused more trouble as members than any other !
It's quite simple. If labor want's a favor from the EU, the EU will ask "what are you offering in return?" That's simply how negotiations work.
