It is not a sure bet M1 is better than Russia tank. It’s not in Afghan or Irag.
Saw my first Abrams at summer Graf 82. it wemt f;lying by my battery cross-country. Was mid-afternoon so was easy to hold my place in line ( was driving an M109a2 SP 155mm and my speedo said we were doing 35mph), and marvel at the monster that had just passed me.
Those tanks have gotten nothing but better in the decades since that day. Those Polish tackers have just entered the big lieagues.
Correction: These certainly aren't 'New'. It's the 2nd oldest version of Abrams (M1A1), retired last year by US Marine Corp. USMC decided that heavy tanks are surplus to requirements while being monumentally expensive to run for Marine operations so US DoD agreed to sell 116 (out of 200 retired) of those M1A1s to Poland after Invasion of Ukraine by ZOViet RuZZia. Just by looking at turret, it's obvious that they don't have special equipment found in newer upgrade packs. Also not new in terms of age. Each of them is minimum 31 years old given that M1A1 run ended in 1992.
First actually 'New' Abrams in much improved version A2 SEP2 are scheduled for delivery in early 2025.

The Abrams has a German gun, British armor, Belgian mashine guns and American electronics and engine. Now it will also have Polish crews due to being Poland's main battle tank.
Abrams tanks are trash. Not only did they blow up in Afghanistan but theyre too heavy for most European bridges. This is like watching an idiot brag about buying a timeshare.
having M1 Abrams can be considered a punishment by some... 10100 USD per shot there...
I assume these tanks have the special armour and american high tech sensors removed?
Seeing a bunch of guys drive a bunch of trucks and such all over the place doesn't really tell us very much. 3 minutes of my life wasted.

I hope Poland doesn't invade russia. I think the world knows russia is a joke military at this point, but invasion wasn't the reason these tanks were provided to Poland.
