After two months in Spain I'm finally back in France. As my friend Stephanie was visiting the amazing Ed and Anna in Bordeaux I took the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone and fly to Bordeaux for a long needed catch up.

El Cotarro is a group of more than 157 underground wineries and 7 cave wineries in the small town of Moradillo de Roa. The wineries, many of which have subterranean cellars, are all carved in stone and date back to 1550. Many of the caves had fallen into a poor state of conservation with problems stemming from water ingress. The conservation of this cultural landscape, including its tangible and intangible heritage, has now been assured through the conservation of the subterranean caves and the revitalisation of traditional crafts.

Hello & welcome to the channel! If you’re new here, a big warm friendly welcome and we hope you enjoy the videos. Originally from Liverpool, me (Andrew The KnightStrider) and Laura moved to Tenerife in the Canary Islands 7 years ago, and enjoy showcasing the island and our general life as well as travelling abroad when we can! Join us today for an incredible tour of Tenerife South on some exhilarating Boom Trikes (a 3 seater motorbike) ! As the sun was shining in the hot Tenerife sunshiny weather, We take the Boom Trikes Tenerife “mystery tour” up into the volcanic picturesque hills, taking in some beautiful views and learning lots of information about the island itself with the knowledge of our driver Ian. The tour takes us to the oldest village in Tenerife, La Quinta which is from the 16th Century, we then head through Taucho which is also steeped in history. We head towards Armenime first, Callao Salvaje, Marazul and into the Mountains. We go through Tijoco Bajo, Barrio Taucho and La Quinta. Stopping for lunch, we had some traditional Spanish and Canarian tapas at a classic private Finca which included homemade wine tasting and exploring their very own natural volcanic stone Cave where they store and make the wine in the cool temperatures! Sampling Canarian White Wine, Goats Cheese Tapas and Spanish Canarian Hams. It was a unique canarian experience. The finca was amazing, with views all around of the Teide National park, pine forrest and sights right out over the Atlantic Ocean to the island of La Gomera in the distance. The owners of the Finca were extremely welcoming and even catered to Laura’s gluten free dietry needs with Gluten Free bread and a homemade cake that was to die for- it was even made with their own sustainable eggs that are layed by their very own free range chickens on the Fincas land. They also had more adjoining land where they grow their own grapes for wine, fruit and cactus. As if this wasn’t enough, we jumped back on the trike and continued back down the mountain landscape to some lovely Canarian villages. Again we explored a natural cave, this one used as fridge system where they store Canarian Potatoes and Canarian Bananas. Various wild life appeared during the tour, such as Mountain Goats, Birds of prey, Horses and Donkeys. Even your nose is given a treat, driving through fruit farms that smell of zesty Oranges and Lemons. I captured some great footage of the landscape from above with the drone as we learnt some of the history about some of the local Churches and buildings in La Quinta. We descended through the Barrancos (valleys) then on Adeje before making our return to the Pasarella Centre in Los Cristianos. This was a fantastic trip that I would recommend to all ages and abilities, whether you think you know Tenerife or not. The bikes were comfortable, clean, safe and the hospitality from Ian the driver and also the Finca itself was 5 stars!
