Plug in tuning boxes from brands such as HDI and Racechip are seen as a quick and easy way to increase performance for your vehicle. I test a Racechip piggyback diesel tuning box fitted to my Mercedes W205 C220D on a DYNO to see if it gives the BHP and TORQUE gains claimed. Honda has given the 3rd generation HR-V a complete makeover to combat the onslaught of desirable and stylish midsize SUVs that have flooded the market. The new Honda HR-V which is both wider and longer is also the most stylish generation yet, is well equipped and comes with a spacious interior. Depending on the variant, there’s the turbo version (E and V variants) which should excite potential owners looking for a sporty midsize SUV here. Introduced here towards the end of last year the latest Peugeot 3008 SUV now has a new striking appearance and adapting some design cues from the latest sharp-looking 208 hatchback and 2008 SUV, such as the ‘sabre-toothed’ LED daytime running lights, among others. Although there’s a new engine in the latest range but for Malaysia, the direct-injection 1.6 litre THP (Turbo High Pressure) four-pot that generates 167 PS and 240 Nm of torque remains the sole option. A RS Performance revendedora oficial do RaceChip no Brasil foi até a Hard Garage em SP para testar em dinamômetro o desempenho de um carro original e depois com o RaceChip instalado. Convidamos o Pascoal da Dragster Brasil para apresentar o antes e depois do carro. O Fuision que foi testado, possui de fábrica 248CV no motor e apresentou nas rodas 170CV, o que representa uma perda de 46% do motor para as rodas, lembrando que o carro testado é 4x4 e que consequentemente tem um índice de perda maior. Com o RaceChip a potência que apresentou nas rodas foi de 203CV que aplicando a mesma perda apresentada de 46% geraram 296CV no motor, um ganho de 48CV constante com pico de 52CV no motor a 4600RPM. No teste utilizamos gasolina convencional e temperatura ambiente de 30°. O interessante é conseguimos comparar nosso resultado com outros Fusion com remap na ECU que já haviam passado no dinamômetro da Hard Garage e nenhum passou dos 198CV nas rodas, o que nos mostra o quão eficiente foi o RaceChip no teste realizado.
