I have been using the CLA Vocals Plugin on my vocals for a couple of years now and it's honestly pretty crazy how fast you can get a bland vocal to sound amazing. The Chris Lord-Alge Vocal plugin is many crucial aspects of mixing vocals all wrapped into one easy and intuitive plugin. The first section is an eq that allows you to shape the sound of your vocal. Next, there is a compression aspect that allows you to control how powerful or aggressive you want your vocals to be. Then there is a reverb and delay section followed by a spreader. Reveal how Input changes EQ, Harmonics change, real EQ curves and their flaws, Hidden Compressor settings. We will be checking what settings were used on 1176 Rev A Bluestripe. How Waves L1 has something to do with it. I will demonstrate how it handles a very dynamic Vocal and flaws of each module of this Plugin. I will even explain why 3nd and 5th harmonic goes higher on Spank mode and why it sounds thinner than Push. We will check why CLA set up 70 Hz on highpass but he gets only 30 Hz. Also how the Lowcut Filter is engaged with those Bass options and what frequencies you cut exactly. Bass control is not only Low Frequency control actually. It affects Mids. I will specify what low shelf filters where used on each module and what curves we use here. Some crazy resonance on Upper and Roof. Why it's like that and what effect it will give.
