This is a recap of a Mexican Riviera cruise I did two years ago on Carnival Panorama. The reason this is appearing now is that I'm going to be sailing on Carnival Panorama again in the next few months, so this video will serve as a bit of a preview for an all-new video I'll make once I'm onboard again. I've updated this video a little bit since the original video appeared on my channel, and fixed a technical problem with the video that has bugged me for the last two years! Even though the information in this video is two years old, it still almost all applies to what you can expect on Carnival Panorama right now... with the exception of who the Cruise Director is, and a few Covid-related things like wearing masks. One of the most important things I want to accomplish with this video is to educate people about a limited-access area at the back of the ship, with its own pool, two hot tubs, sun deck area, and a bar. This area is for the exclusive use of a small number of special passengers on the ship. The vast majority of passengers on Carnival Panorama do not have access to it. In the video, I explain the benefits of having access to this area, and the simple thing you have to do in order to get that access. I also point out a few parts of the ship that a lot of people don't discover... and offer an honest assessment of a couple of things that Carnival didn't get right on this ship. But mostly, I'm a fan of Carnival Panorama... and I encourage all cruise fanatics on the west coast of the United States to experience this ship at least once. Just before the Thanksgiving holidays, the Carnival Panorama had some issues and is now stuck in Astoria, Oregon and it can't get to the shipyard to get fixed resulting in several canceled cruises. I found out what is happening and am sharing what I know in this video. This travel vlog is the story of our February 2022 cruise on Carnival Panorama, a cruise ship that offers Mexican Riviera cruises out of the Southern California area. In this video, I take you day by day through our activities during the week were were aboard... showing you the fun and relaxing things we did each day, and showing you what we ate from the many restaurants onboard. It had been two years (and a global pandemic) since the last time we had been on this excellent cruise ship, and the main thing I found myself dreaming about during those two years was the Guy Fieri food that this ship offers. I can't get anything like it back at home, so it was the main thing I ate when we were onboard. The video also focuses on the Havana area of the ship... a place with two hot tubs, a swimming pool, a sun deck, and a bar... all for the exclusive use of only a small number of guests who have paid a little extra for access. Because access to this area is limited to only the guests with a cabin in the Havana area, the pool, hot tubs, sun deck, and bar are all un-crowded... a very desirable thing on a cruise ship with thousands of people aboard. There is A LOT happening on embarkation day! We hope this information will help you have a smooth sailing day as you board your ship in the Port of Long Beach. We sailed on the Carnival Panorama in June 2023, and these are few tips that we recommend on embarkation day: 1. Travel as little as possible on embarkation day. We DEFINITELY recommend flying in at least the day before. We're relatively local, but chose to stay at a hotel in downtown Long Beach. There are a TON of awesome restaurants and shops in the area. We stayed at Renaissance Long Beach Hotel (it is a Marriott hotel) and absolutely LOVED it. We even had views of the cruise terminal from our room. 2. Go to the bathroom before heading to the cruise terminal, this may seem like a strange tip, but the traffic was CRAZY getting into the terminal, and the bathrooms are small. We waited in a HUGE line on disembarkation day! 3. Have your luggage tagged BEFORE going to the terminal. 4. Print your boarding passes ahead of time, and have them easily accessible. And DO NOT forget your passports at home, or in your checked luggage!! 5. Once on board, report to your muster station FIRST!!! Once that is done (and it's quick!!) THEN you can start vacation. Just think of it as an extension of the embarkation process. You DO NOT want to be late doing this. 6. If you have kids, I absolutely recommend stopping by Camp Ocean for a tour. This is the only time they'll let you into the area to check it out, and it's a good opportunity to make sure you and your kids are both comfortable with it. 7. Don't miss the sail away party!! It's a blast!! 8. This third Vista-class ship is home to several of the line's signature restaurants, bars, and onboard amenities. Still, there are some venues you can only find on the ship. After 7 nights aboard this mega-ship, we learned a lot. Find out what we liked, loved, and where the ship fell short in the 9 Things We Loved About Carnival Panorama and the one thing we hated! If you enjoy the video, please make sure to give it a BIG THUMBS UP! For those who like to be outdoors, Carnival Panorama has several outdoor decks boasting complimentary attractions. Among our favorites was the SkyRide aerial bike. Also, the ship's WaterWorks park, with two waterslides and a kids' splash area, is ideal for those long sunny days at sea. For some adult only time, we loved the ship's Serenity. This sun deck was home to several loungers, day beds, a private bar, and some relaxing vibes. One of the biggest surprises for us was the quality of the complimentary dining. We were huge fans of several of these casual spots, including Guy’s Burger Joint, the BlueIguana Cantina, and the Carnival Deli. These included selections were hot, fresh, and delicious. The main dining room also shined with the Sea Day Brunch and nightly dinners, offering well prepared and timed meals every day of the trip. The ship’s bars and lounges also served up something from everyone. Form the handcrafted cocktails at the Alchemy Bar, to signature margaritas at the BlueIguana Cantina and mojitos at the Havana Bar, we made sure to sample at lease one drink from each venue. You will not want to miss the Heroes Tribute bar either, exclusive to this ship. One of the only venues with a small up-charge, the Sky Zone trampoline and challenge park is certainly worth the nominal fee. You can enjoy the various activities including trampolines, an interactive rock climbing wall, a jousting beam, and more. These one hour sessions are so much fun, that you may opt to do it again on another day. Not to mention, there is plenty of nighttime fun including comedy shows in the Punchliner comedy club, the lively Fun Squad parties occurring in the Atrium and on the Lido Deck, and the highly entertaining Lip Sync Battle.
