A brutal and relentless totalitarian regime set up a puppet government that ran a democracy that was all a sham. Then came the Citizenship Program - an initiative that stamped out choice and free will under the guise of ensuring an easier and safer living. Coupled with the total control of communication and media, the government had the city and its citizens firmly within its domineering grips. But people wanted to smoke, to be obese, to live or ruin their lives as they saw fit - the citizens wanted their freedom back. So they protested and formed the Libertas movement that openly challenged the government. Demonstrations were peaceful at first, but the police opened fire on protesters in what would be known as the November Riots. The government would then form the City Police Force to ensure the November Riots would never happen again - and for the next 18 years, it didn't. Robert Pope, the organizer of the riots did not give up, however. He instead chose to run for mayor in order to create change, this time through the legal system. But when Pope is seemingly murdered by Kate Connor, it's up to her sister Faith to clear her name. As a runner for an underground illegal courier group, Faith must follow all things inexplicably painted red to uncover the truth behind Pope's death. Downloaded from Speeddemosarchive: 🤍 Comments from the runner, David 'Weatherproof' Streeter: "The general tricks I used in this run: Side-step Boost: If you are at a standstill, strafe and jump at the same time, then look in the direction of your strafe. It takes a little bit to get used to, but you'll be running full speed from a standstill if done correctly. Wall-Run Boost: Wallrun and then jump right off, your speed will increase a bit while in the air. It doesn't seem to be affected by level loading or specific timing, making it easy to do. Jump-Kick: When opening doors or breaking through glass, it is (usually) faster to jump in the air, then kick the door/glass open. Wall-Run Kick: When wallrunning, kick off the wall and there will be a slight "cushion" that will reset your falling height, allowing you to descend from some falls without dying. Fall-Break Kick: If falling in a straight line (like from out of a vent), kick before landing instead of rolling. You'll be able to start running instantly instead of waiting to finish the roll animation. Jumping up stairs: It is faster to jump up stairs than to just run up them. Wall-Climb: Run at a wall, climb up vertically like normal, do a sidestep in mid-air, then jump and look towards the ledge and hopefully Faith will grab the ledge. This allows you to get to high to reach places quickly. Use Slide: Only works on PC :( If you have to use something (such as a button, or pipe), slide into it and press your Use button at exactly the right time. This will trigger the event without playing the animation, saving time. For the Use Slide, I mapped my Use key to my mousewheel. I don't have a fancy sliding mousewheel, it's just the standard one you find on most computers. I did not use the Wall-Run Kick Jump because that is a very black-magic-like trick that rarely works. I have never had any luck getting it to work even rarely, let alone consistently. This is one of the best tricks to do in the game though so you will see segmented runs using this frequently. I did not use the Coil Boost because it doesn't work 100% of the time, it can slow you down if not done right or the game feels like loading while you're in air or landing, and it only boosts your speed by a marginal amount. So more time was saved by not using it and focusing more on consistent running and not having my speed be reduced to zero from having botched one landing." More info about the run at SDA: 🤍

For the first review of 2023 I'm finally getting around to playing and reviewing Mirror's Edge Catalyst. Mirror's Edge Catalyst was released in 2016, and was met with mixed reviews, but I had a blast playing it. I enjoyed Catalyst's take on open world, for the most part, and think the combat system is a big step up from the first game. If you get the chance, I say playing Mirror's Edge Catalyst is absolutely worth it in 2023. Movies, YouTube videos, and video games alike took to the urban jungle so that they could showcase the activity in all of its glory, and entertain audiences with fast-paced thrills. And no other video game managed to thrill quite like Mirror’s Edge. The brainchild of Swedish video game developer DICE, Mirror’s Edge cast players in the shoes of Faith, a raven-haired courier tasked with delivering messages across the rooftops of a gleaming dystopia. While many found the sum of its offerings to be far from perfect, most agreed that running through the metropolis was a delight, and that it’s clean, minimalist art was a welcome breath of fresh air from the browns and grays of its competitors. After Mirror’s Edge came and went, however, it quickly became apparent that it would be a while longer before fans would be able to return to Faith’s world. While DICE would repeatedly express its desire to continue building out its budding parkour series, rumors and news stories alike perpetually suggested that DICE either was at a crossroads on how to proceed with it, or simply not working on it at all. And the more years that passed, the more the studio seemed to become further entrenched in the Battlefield franchise. In the end, however, the series would finally receive a second lease on life nearly a decade later, in the form of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst – an open-world re-imagining of DICE’s opus that would be met with equal parts fanfare, and equal parts frustration. Así que hoy os traigo el mítico resumen, opinión, critica, reseña, analisis de la historia y gameplay del juego... pero con un twist, que el juego era un shooter con armas todo el rato, lo del parkour estaba para entretener y poco más...

Oh Mirrors Edge, now don't get me wrong, I love this game, but what I don't love is the last 11 achievements we need to finish this grind. For completing the DLC and Time Trial levels. These achievements are easily the HARDEST achievements that I have ever gone for. So buckle up as we have to expertly sprint our way to 50 out of 50 achievements. Wish me luck.
