This is the Trinity Class Explorer, a modular space ship for Space Engineers. The mod showcase video goes over what this blueprint vehicle can do and how it works. The trinity class explorer come in two parts: ►The Ship - Which is a lightly defended but very fast space craft. (Warning! - Its fast acceleration is hindered by its extremely poor stopping speed) ►The Jumpdrive - A almost station like attachment which features jump drives and acts as a refueling station for the main ship. You can attach and detach the jumpdrive station from the ship using the connector and merge block, which is great if you have used the jump drives you can then ditch the attachment and fly around while it recharges. [GSI] Trilogy-Class Explorer [Modless] 🤍 "The Trilogy-Class Explorer is based off the predecessor Trinity-Class Explorer however, upgraded in both defense, acceleration, flight range and, exploarable limits increased far beyond the Trinity. Included is a 'Jump Sled' that the Trilogy (or other compatible vessels) can dock to in order to gain access to the Jump Drives installed on the sled for a maximum of 4,000km jump range. Lightly defended by Interior Turrets a a Gatling Turret, the Trilogy is intended for fast and quick maneuvering, however, due to lack of reverse thrust slowing down linearly can be time consuming or dangerous depending on the skill of the pilot. SUPER SCALE 3D PRINTED RC AEROPLANE ! Abrams P-1 Explorer | Essential RC FLIGHT TEST AVAILABLE HERE: 🤍 After 2 months of 3D printing parts and quite a lot longer to assemble James' Abrams P-1 Explorer was ready for its first flight. He was just a little nervous but he needn't have been. It was an amazing success ! Thanks to George at 🤍4-max.co.uk for all his advise on the power setup. This fully 3D printable RC airplane was designed and developed by René Marschall and is available on PlanePrint.com RC Specification Wingspan: 1500 mm (59 inches) Flight weight: 2100 grams (3S/2700MaH) Wing loading: 50 g/dm2 Radio: 5-channel Motorization: 3S Material: PLA 800g/TPU 100g Background of the full size Abrams P-1 Explorer The Explorer was designed by aerial survey pioneer Talbert Abrams, to meet his needs for a stable aircraft with excellent visibility for his work. Abrams was an early aerial photographer in World War I. He used a Curtiss Jenny post-war, forming ABC airlines. In 1923, Abrams founded Abrams Aerial Survey Company and in 1937, Abrams Aircraft Corporation to build the specialized P-1 aircraft. The standard single front-engined airplane of this era had many drawbacks for carrying out scientific photography. They were created to be nimble in the air rather than stable photographic platforms. Their engines leaked oil which would then flow under the aircraft and affect the camera lens. Finally, the loud engines made cockpit conversation difficult. Abrams designed an aircraft with a rear engine to keep the camera apertures clean and reduce cockpit noise, and used a delta type wing to facilitate side vision. He hired engineers Kenneth Ronan and Andrew Edward Kunzl, in Marshall, Michigan, who drew plans and began construction in the former Page Brothers Buggy Company factory. Ronan and Kunzl operated an aeronautical repair station at the Marshall airfield. Planning and construction took ten months, and resulted in an airplane designed for more efficient and economical aerial photography. To create the clear nose so the pilot had an unobstructed view, Abrams hired the German company Rohm and Haas, creators of Plexiglas. With a wooden model of each window pane, the Plexiglas was clamped in a frame similar to a window frame. Heated until it began to sag, it was then pushed down by two workers holding the frame until it was molded to the wooden model. The Plexiglas could then be trimmed and mounted in the frame work. When the Explorer came back for restoration, the panels which had been heated were as clear as when new, though were destroyed due to abuse during disassembly. The Explorer was a low-wing aluminium monoplane with twin booms and a central nacelle for the pilot and camera equipment. The pod's nose section was extensively glazed in Plexiglas. The undercarriage was fixed and of tricycle configuration. Originally powered with a 330 hp (250 kW) engine and a two-bladed propeller, it was sent back to Ronan & Kunzul to increase the horsepower to 450. This change required braces to be added from the wing top to the fuselage and they added a three-bladed propeller, with Abrams hoping the increased power would attract a buyer. World War II interrupted Abrams's work, and the single aircraft built was put into storage for the duration of the war. The Explorer I Anomaly by David A. Levinson Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company UC Davis Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Seminar Date: 15 November 2012 Thursday Time: 4:10-5:00 pm Abstract On January 31, 1958, the United States Army Ballistic Missile Agency successfully launched America's first satellite, Explorer I, into orbit around the Earth. As is well known, not only did this achieve the political goal of putting the United States back in the space race it was losing badly to the Soviet Union, but instruments onboard Explorer I sent back the first data revealing the existence of the Van Allen radiation belts a major scientific triumph. What is not so well known is that Explorer I also made its mark in aerospace engineering lore by exhibiting an attitude motion anomaly that none of the extensive published literature from the previous two centuries of research on rigid body dynamics had accounted for. During this talk, the anomaly will be described in detail, and, through the use of modern-day dynamics simulation tools, including animation, the principles of mechanics underlying what happened will be discussed in terms suitable for a general audience. The consequences for later spacecraft design from what was learned from the Explorer I anomaly will be explained. About the Speaker David Levinson currently holds the position of Senior Staff Research Engineer at the Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, based in Sunnyvale, California. Most of his work has been in the area of dynamics of complex mechanical systems, such as multibody spacecraft, robotic devices, and aerospace mechanisms. Over the years, he has been the recipient of numerous engineering awards, among them the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) San Francisco Section Engineer of the Year Award in Astronautics, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Santa Clara Valley Section Distinguished Mechanical Engineer Award, the American Astronautical Society Outstanding Achievement Award, and the Lockheed Missiles and Space Company President's Award. He has numerous journal publications and is a coauthor of two McGraw-Hill textbooks one on Spacecraft Dynamics, and the other on Dynamics: Theory and Applications. He also coauthored three desktop-published textbooks on Dynamics. He is a Fellow of both the American Astronautical Society and the ASME, and is an Associate Fellow of the AIAA.

Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) present a lecture by Anousheh Ansari, the first female private citizen to travel to the International Space Station. On September 18, 2006, a few days after her 40th birthday, Ansari became the first female private space explorer and first Iranian in space. Ansari is the fourth self-funded space tourist to fly to the International Space Station. The Ansari family was the title sponsor for the Ansari X -Prize, won in 2004 by entrepreneur Burt Rutan of Scaled Composites. This will be a memorable night to find out what it is like to be in space and travel aboard the International Space Station as a Spaceflight Participant.
After serving in World War 1, aviator Ted Abrams became fascinated by aerial photography and all its reaches. However, the current aircraft were not built for this purpose, and he struggled to carry out his passion project with the quality he strived for. Not one to sit on the sidelines, the young entrepreneur took the matter into his own hands and created his own aviation company: the Abrams Aircraft Corporation. He then hired a few experts to support his dream and developed the P-1 Explorer, a unique aircraft specifically designed for aerial survey and mapping. The aircraft was truly a sight to behold.
