The sports world was shocked first, when the Pistons announced in 2017 they were moving back to Detroit, then again in 2019 when it was announced that the Palace of Auburn Hills, after finishing renovations in 2015, would be demolished. The arena is one of the most significant and culturally iconic of its time, with its design inspiring the building boom in the 1990s of new arenas. Even when it was demolished, it still wasn't that out of style. The Palace hosted many iconic concerts and events, in addition to 3 Pistons championships. The venue's most infamous event came in 2004. The Malice at the Palice, the most infamous brawl in sports history, brought nationwide attention and notoriety to the site, and forever changed the careers of those involved. When Tom Gores bought the Pistons in 2011, he poured millions into revamping the arena. However, a new arena was then proposed in downtown Detroit, Little Caesar's Arena, and Gores ultimately decided to move the team and level the Palace. Here's a short video I made a few months ago exploring the abandoned Palace of Auburn Hills Stadium during its demolition. The Palace was where the Detroit Pistons basketball team used to play. This stadium only sat abandoned for little over a year before they started the demo process. Abandoned stadiums in the United States are always tricky to enter because of high security. The security here was really tight, and they were still using the offices inside the stadium, so it was hard to enter the property before the demolition started. The first time I went was during the weekday so my only option was to dress like a construction worker and sneak inside by myself. I got a few photos but I wanted to go back when they weren't working. By the time I made it back to Detroit the abandoned stadium was just about completely demolished. I still explored the stadium and documented what was left at that time for this video. Rest In Paradise Rebecca. Almost 14 minutes playing the best live version from A Forest with the best line up and best live ever did Concert. My Advice: go to sleep listen to this version, Again and Again and Again and Again, and your dreams will thank you. The Iconic touch from this live version minute 11:11 playing some notes from She Lost Control from Joy Division. All in one, Magnificent.
Video enhanced and upscaled using AI software and audio re-balanced using different AI software (vocals turned down 2db with slight reverb added to vocal and drum track). I will no doubt take some heat from purists and Presto fans for re-assembling the track order, but I just re-cut it in the way that I wanted to watch it at home, it's just my least favorite Rush album and I didn't really want to have to listen through half of it to get to my favorite tracks from this show, newcomers and casual fans may feel the same so I made it more accessible to the average viewer by putting the hits and classics in the first half. Also because it took so long to render this huge file-size that I didn't want to process two different versions, AND, the original version is already incomplete and cut between every song, so I didn't think it mattered that much.
